Steve DutySteve Duty holds an associate degree in culinary arts from the Culinary Institute of America, a B.S. in hotel and restaurant management from Conrad Hilton College of Hotel & Restaurant Management and an MBA in hospitality administration and management from Johnson and Wales University. As a co-founder of Cheese+Provisions, he is responsible for curating the ever-changing cheese collection offered in the shop, managing staff members, playing host to educational events and maintaining relationships with artisan cheesemakers who sell limited quantities of their products, only to trusted partners.

Steve has more than a decade of experience in the cheesemaking industry and within the retail industry. Prior to opening Cheese+Provisions, Steve served as a professional cheesemonger in two of Denver’s esteemed, high-end cheese shops; led a team at Whole Foods Market’s specialty food counter of cheese and charcuterie; owned and operated True Ewe Farm, his own artisan creamery and cheesemaking operation, which he built from the ground up in Rappahannock, VA, in partnership with his wife, Kim; and was the general manager of an award-winning winery in Virginia, which grew from 600-cases each year to more than 3,500 under his tutelage.

Steve lives in the burgeoning Sunnyside neighborhood of Denver with his wife, Kim and their three rescue dogs.


Kim DutyKim Duty received a B.A. in international relations from the College of William and Mary and a M.S. in public policy from Georgetown University. As a co-founder of Cheese+Provisions, she is responsible for helping curate the store’s products and for managing marketing efforts.

Kim is an award-winning real estate communications professional with more than 20 years of experience in planning and implementing communications and content strategies, branding and marketing efforts and digital communications. Kim will maintain her career as senior vice president of the National Multifamily Housing Council in Washington, D.C.

Prior to opening Cheese+Provisions, Kim simultaneously served as assistant director of the National Association of Home Builders’ Multifamily Council and as the marketing manager for Farfelu Vineyards in Flint Hill, Va. Kim co-opened True Ewe Farm, an artisan creamery and cheesemaking operation, with her husband, Steve prior to founding Cheese+Provisions.

Kim shares her time between Denver and Washington, D.C.
