Cheese is our second passion. Homeless dogs are our first. When we aren’t making cheese trays or slicing salumi, we are at home fostering animals from high-kill shelters through the Animal Rescue of the Rockies. Over the past year, we’ve helped save more than a dozen dogs, some that were in shelters for three or more years.
In honor of Colorado Gives Day, we’re donating 10% of our sales to ARR on Tuesday, Dec. 5.
Since they were formed in 2003, ARR has found permanent homes to over 2,500 dogs and cats. Every week they send out a DIN (Dogs in Need) list to would-be fosters.
Fostering is an incredibly rewarding experience. Most people avoid fostering because they think it will be too hard to give up the foster. We did too. But we found that the joy in matching a dog with their perfect a family is better than keeping the dogs. AND for every dog we adopt out, we create a space for another dog who gets saved. That’s a pretty amazing feeling.
